Screencasting

It's time to freshen up some of the EntryThingy screencast tours - so much new stuff has been added lately. And it's the perfect thing to do on a dark and rainy day.

I'm taking the record video first then voice-over route again - it's so much easier that way!

Bonita Springs Art Festival is this weekend - the show that started it all

This is the show that started EntryThingy. EntryThingy would not exist if Barry Witt had not contacted me in March of 2009, looking for a cost effective alternative for receiving, managing and jurying digital entries.

Barry is the director of the Bonita Springs National Art Festivals. And boy, does he know a thing or two about art festivals! Barry and I worked together for several months - sending hundreds of emails, spending countless hours on the phone - to get EntryThingy to where it is today. To work not only for him but also for the artists and the jurors. And wow - was it a blast. I had so much fun working with Barry - and to see what we put together - it's amazing!

Look what we did today

We've been wanting to take Highway 33 out through Los Padres National Forest for some time now - and today we did it. It's so beautiful out there - and we even stopped for a burger at In-N-Out.
Looking for bugs? It's screencast time!

Pretty much finished adding all sorts of cool new functionality into EntryThingy - and just got through a whole day of not finding any bugs. Not bad.

But the final test will be screencasting. Because when you're recording, it's about showing how the new functionality solves problems - it's not about the code anymore. You stop thinking about the code and then you start doing things you might not have anticipated. And then you find stuff. Maybe. Probably. But it's ok. Because you can just delete, fix and start over. Until it really works.
